11/12/2007 -- American Gangster Denzel Washington and Russel Crow are excellent in this intense true story about drugs, corruption, and organized crime during the Vietnam War era. Denzel does a great job as a criminal. Even though he may be on the wrong side of the law, you still want him to win. Russel Crow is an honest cop during an era where it was more fashionable to be dirty. The fact that this was based on a true story about Frank Lucas, made the film even more interesting. Reminded me of New Jack City meets the Godfather.
